First blooms on C. Princesse Clementine x C. velutina

Jeff, following up two years later - I'm in a velutina mood and love how this hybrid turned out! Do you still have this one or did the fussy roots end up being the demise?

It's still sort of hanging on... but not well. I repotted as new roots were starting and it all died. it's still growing but...very sickly. It's demise may be nigh!

I ended up getting alot of velutinas around that time, and they seem pretty straightforward as bifoliates go. They are all growing fine, just slow.

Good to know. I got two Princesse Clementine seedlings from the newest SVO list and I’m interested to see if they prove difficult, too. Should receive a velutina from AWZ in April and I’m fairly sure I can keep that one happy!

Good luck with both! I had a similar experience with C. aclandiae and a slow, slow decline. I probably keep it too wet.

Thanks! If you ever give up on this one, but it’s not completely dead, I am willing to try and baby it back lol 😜 I should have pretty ideal conditions for it in my grow tent.
