Cattleya maxima semi alba
A rather new plant that I bought and repotted 3 months ago, but it still managed to flower, even though I gave it such a rough start in the middle of the winter. Surprise!
I love all maxima varieties and this one is a keeper!

I think what is meant is that a semialba has completely white petals and sepals with no trace of pink pigment, and color only on the lip.
I don't know all the names for fine grades of color difference. I'm sure there is one for very pale coloration of petals and sepals while the lip is closer to normal.
It might be a cross between two semialbas or a selfing of a semialba. Genetics are variable; such crosses often yield flowers that aren't true semialba.

Thanks!!
Still learning
…
…
After a little bit of research I found it was actually named semi alba venosa. Could that explain it?
Anyway, now I have a very good excuse to get another maxima plant

Remember, the color forms don't have any taxonomic standing. There has been plenty of line breeding (breeding the variations within the species) Sometimes a particular color form of a species is found in a particular area, then it might be a "variety" or var. ... but the color forms (or Latin forma or fma.) are just descriptive.
