NoID Cattleya red mark and bullseye markings at base of leaf

I'm not sure if this is anthocyanin building up or if it's something else. I saw similar markings on my Aeridis Flabalata that I've cut off since. This is slightly different however as there is a massive amount of reddish brown. It's also odd that there is a clear straight line between the red and green part of the leaf.

The leaf is very firm, but is curling over and seems like it's not got enough water, it's in semi hydroponics and the other canes and their leaves aren't like this, to this extent. I do think this is it's oldest cane.

As it's starting from the base of the leaf and not the tip, I'm a little concerned.

I agree there is something going wrong. What are your temperatures and humidity? You might find something useful at the St Augustine Orchid Society Web site section on orchid diseases.

hmm looks like someone applied a curling iron on it.

So how long have you had it? I know thrip damage looks different but that is my instinct, are you sure it is completely pest free?

What temps is it getting? How much light?

Current temperature is between 16-22c. Light is estimated at about 3000fc , but it's since been moved so it's not quite so close so now around 2500fc and no longer produces anthocyanin. The new cane it produced had some serious reddening which has since disappeared.

Humidity is probably slightly higher than an average household. It's grown in semihydroponics and was recently repotted.

if the new growth is unaffected I wouldn't worry about it too much.
PS: new growth tends to redden up more than older growth, it doesn't necessarily mean it can't handle that much light but while it is stressed it is wise to reduce it to 2500. Otherwise reddening is nothing to want to avoid. Once a plant is actively growing and any problems are not spreading then you can up the light a bit.

My burana beauty as I mentioned a few months ago was producing a new growth that had turned completely black it was producing that much anthocyanin but it grew right out of it as it matured and the main older leaves were all still green so it wasn't affecting the photosynthesizing capacity of the plant just protecting the new growth

I've quarantined if for a bit now. I've had some funky stuff going on in my collection recently so I've ordered some Cymmv/Orsv test kits.

Not going to lie this all seems to have picked up since I introduced a plant from Spiceotics who I've never ordered from before.

I've got 4 plants from spiceotics.
Overall I'm pretty happy with them. I wouldn't say they sell bad plants per se but maybe you did get unlucky with one of yours.
I know one of their plants did have a pest issue I had to tackle but they wouldn't be the first to give me pests, I think in hindsight I must have picked up a different pest from every nursery I have ordered from.
Another plant was a Cattleya Jenmannii which is a unifoliate Cattleya. This plant is doing really well but the plant they sent me is a bifoliate. So I did a little bit of reasearch and I think I spotted some seedling pictures that showed jenmannii seedlings have 2 leaves then as it matures it turns into a unifoliate but that is just my hopeful theory atm that they sent me the right plant.

I've had this Cattleya for a few years now, it's been through it but now it's in semi hydro it's been great. It's since I've now mixed my new Rhynchostylis in with my collection I'm noticing small black spots etc on a few of my plants... I had assumed it was fine because the black spots weren't spreading on the Rhynchostylis so I assumed it was inert.

Or perhaps it's just a bad coincidence.

Update: another spot has occured.

I've cut the cane and there is this blackening inside the cane half way down. I cut it back to the rhizome first, and found it was green. I cut further up and found this reddening.
