I don't know why, but some yellow hybrids are reluctant bloomers. Several growers have told me, that Rlc. Williette Wong 'The Best' AM/AOS is not easy to bloom.

My first batch of WW 'The Best' turned out to be something else (Golden Emperor, which in my opinion is even better), so I can't comment on difficulty of blooming yet. I have a new batch of WW in from HI, so I will have to see how they do.

Some 3 years ago, I bought several Rlc. (Orchidglade Charm x Chunyeah 'Good Life No. 1'). None have bloomed till now, but this is what I found in the greenhouse today.

There is only a single flower on each inflorescence, but I think it is worth keeping for another blooming (or two).

The flower is beautiful. I have a yellow hybrid that bloomed worse than that (WW ‘The Best’ x Liu’s Joyance) and I’m also waiting for the second bloom. As I have read it is a genetic problem in some yellow hybrids, hopefully it is not like that and it is fixed in the following blooms.

That particular pattern on the lip is really nice. Wonderful yellow colour and nice size too.
