My very first cattleya flower
Here are some photos of the Mayor of Yamasaki Gem’s first flower. It feels like the biggest achievement, and I’m now looking forward to growing other cattleyas.
The petals aren’t as white as I expected, and there’s no fragrance, but I’ll wait a few days for all that.

A wonderful first. And very beautiful indeed. As for the greeny colour. Just wait a little bit ----- eg a day or two. They will most likely change to a light colour after a little bit of time.

A first bloom will always be very special. Very interested if this has a fragrance, mine flowered July 2020 just after receiving it. I couldn't detect any fragrance.
