Excited to see this one bloom
Crazy to think this was Krull-Smith’s first ever FCC
It’s a great classic

Will definitely post update pics soon SFL! The flower is slowly undergoing the sepal split/opening routine ------ but interestingly or suprisingly, the buds appear to be getting larger in size, as in still growing a little bit. Thanks for mentioning that nice history about Krull-Smith!

LM ----- thanks very much for checking! These were certainly slower to open than was expected!

This morning, I took pics of the two buds, which opened up more. And had no idea when they would be spreading their wings. I was estimating maybe another day to go.

But --------- half an hour later after the bud pics ------- I then looked at the buds after finishing doing the orchids watering, and the right-hand bud had its sepals popped open! It was slightly windy this morning - a little bit ------ the shaking from the wind might have sped things up!

I'll show a pic of the buds ----- and then half an hour later! Got some opening action now.

I got home just before sundown, and still had just enough light to take a pic using my mobile/cell phone. Interestingly, the cell phone does some auto brightness adjustments or something, as the background shouldn't be as bright as what it appears in the image hehehe.

I'll use another camera to take more pics tomorrow. The other camera should pick up more detail I think.

These pics were taken with bigger lens camera, and manual focus. Fresh early morning shots.

Will post 1 pic under lower light conditions - to get a darker violet.
