Laelia Zip
Here is the first bloom on my Laelia Zip (Laelia tenebrosa 'None Darker' x Laelia milleri 'Dr. Koopowitz Red' HCC/AOS) from SVO. The blooms started at burgundy and have slowly progressed to blood red. In addition to this one, Fred sent me a free plant with different parents and I'm excited to see how that one compares!

I just looked at SVO and can't seem to find this listed. It wasn't under Cattleya and there is no Leilia heading. Also, I didn't see a search feature. Any suggestions?

Many SVO plants sell out in hours or days after release. Get on the E-mail list for early notification.

Mine are about 6" tall and the spike can add another 10" or so. I have seen the same cross a little taller but definitely smaller than a standard tenebrosa!

I got this one March 2020. I did see it reappear earlier this year... and I think Peter Lin had a few. It might be worth contacting Fred to see if he has any left.

I actually really like C. tenebrosa but milleri is great too! I was hoping for a darker throat color but maybe it will improve a bit the next flowering.

Send an email to SVO. If it sold out Fred may be able to suggest something similar, or maybe he can find one. That's generally my approach when I don't find something on a vendor's website that I'm looking for. Doesn't cost anything to inquire! And often it pays off.
