Totally agree DV! The breakdown of the ancestors seen in online resources says approximately 26% dowiana. A significant amount. I had seen the breakdowns for orchids on some sites, but had never known the method they use to get those ancestry proportions. The amazing trancy pattern of dowiana flowers is very nice.

Thanks Bayard! You too! 'Coral' was certainly born in USA! Also extremely nice to know that you acquired this plant - and that flowering you showed was really outstanding - it was remarkable, as the form was amazing, and the colour lines in the throat was so well developed and pronounced.
Coral is really nice. And one orchid (among your other nice ones) that I really enjoyed seeing photos of - it was a couple of years ago - was Rlc. Memoria Ralph Placentia 'Toreador' --- where you won the outstanding and prestigious award. We may not have that one here in Australia! It was wonderful to see.
Really looking forward to the next flowering of your 'Coral' too!
