In one of the Sudamerlycaste photos (note spelling) I see either a new growth or a flower spike. I can't tell which it is. If it turns out it's a growth, repot right away. Use a considerably larger pot. These have large root systems compared to many other orchids. The tight pot might be why it hasn't bloomed. Or that might be a spike.

Actually I meant the Sudamerlycaste post two above.

Maybe the real problem with the Sudamerlycaste is that I don’t see any roots at all. That's why Roberta mentioned waiting. It would be nice if it were a flower spike though...
