It's a very impressive show, Steve. I like the rather wild shape of the blooms, since it looks a little like it just came from the Brazilian rainforest. I hope that comes across as the compliment that it's meant to be. No offense is intended to your sensibilities as an AOS judge, but I am not a big fan of a lot of line-bred species that tend to have "perfected" shapes compared to their wild brethren. It's quite an amazing plant you have there. Congratulations on the lovely blooms.

I definitely understand what you mean! I certainly have love for both the "wild" forms and for most (not all) of the line bred stuff. For example, I LOVE the shape (i.e. star shaped sepals and petals, tubular lip) of traditional purpurata and greatly dislike the line bred versions now (i.e. round sepals and petals, more open lip).
