Default C. Caudabec Candy

This one just started to open this morning.

Quite rainy in North Queensland lately - and the rain was wetting the flowers. So had to take the plant further in under the balcony to shield against the rain.

Now having a chance to dry out. These flowers will begin to change to a magenta/pink colour soon after opening.

Sharing a nice early opening pic with everybody to begin with.

Beautiful. Didn't realise they were quite this dark when first opened as all the photos show the mature bloom.
Been looking to get one, but they seem quite expensive.

Hi Diane! I purchased this one for approximately $20 a few years back in flowering size. I think it was just a one-off.

I know that Aranbeem (in Australia) registered the cross, and likely still has some mericlones that could be bought. But due to the crazy covid thing or something ----- temporary shut-down of their online site. They'll definitely be up and running again.

Aranbeem website has had a lot of problems with internet from October but they are back online now.
I saw various Caudebec clone crosses but nothing that took my fancy, I think Il wait for a Caudebec Candy to be available somewhere.

Thanks for letting me know they're back online again Diane.

Interestingly, there's a group called Caudebec, and then the grower from Aranbeem purposely registered this cross as CaudAbec Candy---- with an 'A' instead of the 'e'.

Good call on waiting Diane. One will likely come up that you like. You have an advantage too ----- of being in an orchid club.
