Default Sharing my Cattleya Nobilior.

My Cattleya Nobilior has fully bloomed, 3 nice flowers full-size in a bundle, I hope you like it as much as I do.
petals are nice and thick, the flower is sturdy which I really like and appreciate.
Enjoying it a couple days before I pollinate it!

the reddit orchid forum isn't very good... hope to have more people like you here. facebook (and also reddit) has monopolized forums and despite the terrible UI most people I know over 50 are stuck on the platform. wish people would delete facebook and recapitulate their content elsewhere without the nefarious company.

Why do we not see the nobilior or more often? It seems like it’s not nearly as popular as the walkeriana, I can’t figure out why? Different/difficult culture? Not as many forms or varieties? Not sure. Yours lovely and I bet it smells amazing. Well done and congrats! I’m hoping the growth mine put out is a spike but who knows..

It’s considered harder to grow and the scent isn’t as amazing as walkeriana.

You've never smelled my var amaliae! In terms of sheer power compared to other orchids I've bloomed it's second only to C. iricolor, and the fragrance is much nicer than the 'Carmela' clone of walkeriana that I recently bloomed. The walkeriana reminded me of my grandmother's perfume, very cloying, while the nobilior has a sweet vanilla fragrance with floral overtones.
