In terms of sheer power compared to other orchids I've bloomed it's second only to C. iricolor, and the fragrance is much nicer than the 'Carmela' clone of walkeriana that I recently bloomed. The walkeriana reminded me of my grandmother's perfume, very cloying, while the nobilior has a sweet vanilla fragrance with floral overtones.

Very cool! Mine are nicely fragrant, but nothing quite like the description you give!
