Beautiful colours and wonderful flower sam. That close-up shot is a very nice extra.

Observation from Kyle Saunders (Cattleya specialist, on a par with Dave Off):

Two flowers/inflorescence: = Meristem
Three flowers/inflorescence: = Mother Division

Not being disrespectful in any way of that observation by Kyle ------ but I reckon it likely depends on which meristem plant it is. At least some meristem results are expected to have the same DNA and behaviour as the 'original'.

I don't think it is as straight-forward as:

Two flowers/inflorescence: = Meristem
Three flowers/inflorescence: = Mother Division

Observation based on many factors. Including one grower who exhibited speciment plants of both meristems & mother divisions. For the record, Kyle has several of both (I only have a meristem).

WOw, looks good enough to eat. Like a snow cone.

Congrats on this one, I love how big the blooms are.
