Cool night temperature, strong light and plenty of moisture (thanks to S/H) makes coccinea very happy...look at those purple stripes! It is as if someone took a thick marker and drawn lines on them.

Now I am counting six new growths.

Looks like a healthy and happy plant! What are your growing conditions? Do you use supplementary lighting or is it natural?

Just with natural sun. It is on the shelf at the south facing window in my balcony. The temperature in my balcony during summer is 32°C day/27°C night...which means it has to relocate to where there is an air conditioner running. At winter, day temperature is 25°C at day and 10°C at night...which is good temperature for coccinea IMHO. I bring in my plant into the living room at the night, during the heat of the summer, (usually around late July till early September). So far my plant is doing fine, as you can see. The humidity can be as low as 10% during spring and autumn...so semi-hydro is really helpful to maintain the moisture around the plant.

Fantastic! that's one happy coccinea, the purple veining is just stunning!

I'm hoping for similar with my Soph. wittigiana that I bought as a flask and mounted earlier in the year.

I get similar conditions to you papayj near the blue mountains here is NSW, Aus, so hopefully I can achieve what you have.

Thankyou for sharing
