Hi friends,
Can someone shed light on the leaf issue on this Yellow Bird? I bought it knowing it came with leaf damage but it is now yellowing. Just wondering if there should be any concern. Roots look fine from what I can tell.
Thanks
Natalie
It will yellow up and then fall off. The plant is discarding that leaf as it has become damaged - good thing - will look better once it's fallen off. As long as it stays as just 1 leaf you're good.
I can't see anything to be overly worried about yet.

Thank you! I am glad you don't see any other issues past that.
Agree with OrchidTinkerer. Were it mine, I'd go ahead and snip it off below the blackened part and dust some cinnamon on end of cut. Either works, unless you see further issues.

NZ ...... no immediate threat or concern about the entire orchid. But definitely would be interesting to know what caused that injury, and whether that is a newest leaf or oldest leaf, and also whether the leaf looked relatively 'ok' when it arrived.
I also notice a clip on that bulb. So maybe there is more extensive damage, apart from the bruising/damage on the leaf - hard to say right now.
