When cold, dry... mounted plants dry fast, water only in the morning in cold weather. In winter, all of my plants have to do with only indirect light because the house blocks the sun (yard is east-west, house on the south) They all seem to tolerate the lower light levels. (I have one spot, about 1 m wide, that gets decent sun in mid-winter, there I put my European and Australian terrestrials because they need high winter light. Everybody else has to put up with what they get.)

Another little tip... take advantage of "heat sinks" like the house, or block walls. They absorb heat during the day, radiate it at night... if you put plants next to those surfaces, you add a few degrees.
Your bigger challenge will be next summer... I am very familiar with your area, lived in Pomona for a lot of years. I suggest an investment in Aluminet shade cloth - aluminized mylar. It not only cuts light, it also reflects heat. My go-to source:
Aluminet Shade Cloth | Shade Cloth Store I find that 60% is the "sweet spot"... cuts enough to be effective but still lets in enough light to keep plants happy.
