Cattleya walkeriana/nobilior spikes
All,
I've been asked several times recently what a spike for either Cattleya walkeriana or nobilior looks like. Turns out this is the perfect time of year to ask such a question! Check out the spikes on a some nobilior, walkeriana, and Brazilian Jewel (nobilior x walkeriana).
Here's a video showing my current spikes in the greenhouse: Spiking Cattleya walkeriana & nobilior - YouTube
Here's a nobilior spike from December 2018:

Thanks Stephen, video was very helpful - great to have a visual aid, especially for a first time grower like me. Mine are looking thin and pointy... we shall see!

Yep! But every now and then you'll get a growth from the top of the bulb, just confuse people! lol
