Anytime LF. Nice to hear ----- hard/dry is good.
If the leaves dry relatively quickly after being wet, or if the leaves in the growing area remain dry all the time, and with gentle air-movement, then it really cuts down or even eliminates fungal kind of activity ----- naturally suppresses unwanted kinds of fungal activity.
As for how the holes got there ------ just maintain nice growing temperatures - avoid rapid cooling or heating of leaves (eg. cold water suddenly on hot leaves etc) ---- and look for signs of insects and other animals that might be doing some damage.
Sometimes, too much illumination (light) power into the leaves can burn leaves, and create spots etc.
And every once in a while, apply weak fertiliser and weak mag-cal.
