Most welcome KM! It's excellent how the leaves do become rigid after a while - after they're propped up for a while.

The continual growth or roots and bulbs is a good sign too. Just maintain those nice growing conditions you have - and provide the occasional weak fertiliser and occasional weak mag-cal.

True! Good idea ----- about testing what happens if you just allow 1 or 2 floppy leaves to just stay as they are - without propping.

Some years ago, I mistakenly put a Lc. outside into full sun (in NJ), together with my L. anceps (which I know can handle it). The plant that went out by mistake, was fortunately 50% L. anceps, so it did fine.

At the end of the season, I took a photo of this plant. Notice how the previous years growths were floppy, while the new growth produced in full sun is both larger and fully upright.

Based on this, I would suggest that your Cattleya is getting too little light, where you have it.
