Pretty thrilled with this one!

Epidendrum vesicatum first bloom seedling. I bought this from Diamond Orchids a little over two years ago and it’s finally blooming for me. The braided grey green foliage is lovely and I adore how the flowers are held by the leaves like a little bouquet. The flowers have a very light fragrance that reminds me of freshly sliced cucumbers. This thing is was very slow growing initially but it’s started to pick up steam recently. It made a new growth in the spring and already has 6 leaves on it which is about 4x as fast as it was growing previously. I’ve been keeping it warm to hot, damp year round, and moderately bright. It hangs in the basket a little below my Cattleyas. Last pic is about 5 months after I bought it and looking a little beat up from falling over so many times (hence the basket, lol)

I'm crazy for blooms which hang over or descend from edge and bottom of basket so this is great. Little blooms seem to peek from between leaves that remind me of my lockhartia and aporodes. Well done girl.

Those flowers are very nice! Appears to be light green - very appealing indeed. The braided leaves are an appealing feature too. Very nice captures!
