The solution I've found was to dedicate most of my growing to small species. I've considered also to move to another house.

Excellent point. I can still recall reading several books and articles a few decades ago when I first tried my hand at orchids, all of which were consistent in the advice that everything needed to be removed from the roots when a plant is repotted. I think I probably killed off dozens of orchids because of religiously removing every piece of bark that I could tease off the roots.

My vote is also to take the plant out of the larger pot, remove the inner pot (the one Krull Smith had it in) and repot. Good luck!

Steve

The daughter of a very special hybridizer summed it up in this poem.

Some call us a support group. Others might say we're enablers!

Oh wow, that poem is way too on the nose for me. I laughed several times while reading it. Thank you, Roberta, for sharing Susan's old to our mutual addiction.
