Thanks Roberta! Super interesting topic! What gets me (due to my not enough understanding yet) ----- is the question of what's the mechanism behind two species parents producing offspring - where the offspring remain the same species (?). Or are the offspring of two 'species' parents actually hybrids? Hybrids with less variations in characteristics than other 'hybrids' (the ones we know) with much more variations in characterstics (?).

Once again, will have to chat to those painters. Some paintwork got stuck to the white portion hehehe. Great effect actually.

Wow, that's a nice one! I've got a request though. Can you take another photo in the morning or evening so we can see the color better?

I took a photo just now. Tried using my phone and an actual camera. Sorry - my photography skills are not that great!

The petals seem to be gradually folding back as the day went on.

The folding of the petals is characteristic of the species. This one still has broader petals than most.

Nearly all open now with an intense sweet rose like perfume.
most of the sepals have a pink blush, but the last four or so blooms have had a distinctly yellow sepal. You can see the last few buds are yellow green. I thought they blasted but they are opening nornally.... Not sure if its cultural or genetic...
