Any chance that it got a bit cold, with water sitting on the leaves?

Yes that’s possible. We are in TX and were impacted by the winter storm (we lost power for days with intermittent heat) I ended up building a heating tent for the orchids with candles LOL to help keep them safe.

I did have a mini humidifier in the previous room it was in that was semi close to it, so it’s possible it got some precipitation from that on its leaves. I had already moved it to its new location though, but perhaps it was too close to that midi humidifer?

I would think it’s new location is more advantageous better light etc. I also have ditched the mini humidifiers.

I doubt it will spread, just keep leaves dry, normal warmth. And hope for no more snowstorms. You did well in your protection scheme! It could have been miuch, much worse without your attention.

Hey there! It's funny you ask for an update. I was just going to post one...the Cattleya is going strong! It went through a long 'chill' period after it bloomed for me last, but is now in the process of growing two new pseudobulbs, and has grown new roots galore!!! Everyone's feedback was immensely helpful. Took a long time to get here, but it made it! Will keep everyone posted on the growth and if I get blooms again :-)
