Default Orchid Board Mystery Plant of the Day Contest

I've had this plant for at least 10 years. I'm pretty sure it was acquired as a raffle table special. As I was getting ready to depart FL for the summer, I noticed it was starting to put up a spike. Never having actually seen it in flower, I threw it into the car and brought it north to see if I could bloom it out. It is tagged as Prosthechia fragrans. I have serious doubts and those doubts have nothing to do with whether it is Prosthechia or Anacheilium.

The flowers are wrong and the plant is wrong for fragrans. And to boot, it is barely "fragrans" at all.

This is likely a relative and a hybrid. Distinguishing features are the resupinate flowers and the plant has large pseudobulbs that are quite unique. They are roughly up to 2" in circumference and are plump on the front and back but they are "flattened" in a way that gives them a definite sharp edge all the way around. Sort of like a big fat coin.

I've tried to capture some of this in pictures.

Anyone have any ideas?

I agree with dinvy. It might have been called E. or Anacheilium vespa, too. The flattened pseudobulbs are usual in Anacheilium.

LOL....Just the angle of the pic SP. That's a new growth on the right hanging off the pot.

AND PS........ I meant "non-resupinate". I always get that backwards.

BTW........ appreciate the ideas so keep them coming.
The flower for sure looks more like A. vespa. It's those pseudobulbs............

I'm still digging.

OK---According to Baker, the pseudobulbs of A. vespa (syn. Epid. crassilabium) are quite variable but sometimes "orbicular" (what an awesome word) and almost always moderately compressed laterally.
I'm thinking that's a much more definitive description than I used.

I'm thinking we have a match but if someone has some different ideas, bring them on.

Oh, and BTW, Orchid Wiz has it under Prosthechea.
