I bought a cattleya last year with a flower. Since then it has grown 5 Pseudobulbs with another 2 just starting today. Is this normal? Still no more flowers though.

Growth is never a bad thing, and it means a lot more flowers later! Sounds like a happy plant to me.

More growths typically means more flowers, so it seems like you're doing it right! Congratulations. I have a few mini Catts and a couple larger ones that are pretty old, and they typically have six or eight new growths in each growth cycle, and they are spectacular when they bloom. If the growths are big and healthy and maturing nicely but not blooming, the culprit is typically not enough light. If your plant doesn't bloom from any of the new growths, then you should consider giving it more light. Keep in mind tho that some Cattleyas bloom as soon as the growths are mature, while others can wait several months after the new growths are hardened off before they bloom, so you may just need to be patient, but if the plant goes for a year or more without any flowers, too little light is probably to blame.

Chad ----- some new members can post/upload images immediately, but others encounter a 5-post minimum condition before some automatic system lets them post/upload.

What you can do later is to upload images of your orchid - to see if it is getting enough light.

Tips for uploading images can be found HERE.

When you say it has grown 5 pseudobulbs, is this:

5 growths from different points?
Multiple growths in a line (one growth in the fall, which then starts another in the spring, etc.)?

Some Cattleyas will grow 2 new pseudobulbs each year, which then bloom in quick succession in season. If your plant is of this type, it is only now getting near the season (after 1 year).
