Question regarding Epidendrum nocturnum

Mine was from Carter and Holmes - "compact" strain that was imported from Eucagenera. So far I've had 1 out of 4 open (sample size too small). I did not notice any fragrance at night or during the day.

Mine just opened... just one flower, I got close (at dusk) and there is definitely fragrance. Not strong, but definitely present. (There was another one developing on an old, leafless cane but I don't think that one is going to open so I'll have to be happy with the one... which is lovely)

You, my friend, have the right attitude. I occasionally forget and get annoyed about ‘home jail’ but you are so correct. It is still paradise.
