I didn't realize Myrmecophila hybrids could be so compact. Looks apartment-orchid size!

Myrmecophila albopurpurea (thomsoniana) is, according to the Baker sheet, relatively small for the genus. The other parent is C. violacea, also not huge. So it gets reasonable size from both sides of the family.

this guy opened FAST...thise first shot show the first petal it reminds me of a convertible top being opened while the car is moving too fast.....whoosh!

Geez. No wonder they call that little treasure. I'd call it big treasure. The deep purple lip and the shape of it ----- that's a thumbs down from me (accounting for hemisphere).
