Spotted Cattleyas - 2020
These tend to be summer bloomers. Just bloomed another Rlc. Naomi's Delight, which has a good size flower (92 mm = 3.5/8" NS).
This has been a very good cross. I have bloomed 4, and 3 of them are keepers. I think I have another 4 to go; I will update this thread as they bloom.

I'm a big fan of spotted catts. I love those jungle spot patterns. The yellow with burgundy/maroon spots on this one is fantastic!

I really do love spotted catts, and purchased a couple of aclandiae orchids a few years ago - yet to flower. Purchased because they were around the first spotted catts I ever saw (a long time ago) ----- in a fairly old water-colour illustrated orchid paperback book ..... called Orchids - a Golden Guide. Purely water-colour illustrations, no photos heheheh. But aclandiae was very intriguing at that time.
Outstanding work has been done to get all these other spotted ones these days from the breeding/crossing work.
Just as a laugh ----- it was only on the recent weekend I did something after noticing a nice pattern on something we eat a lot of. In the future, i will try to work on fabricating a lip (side-lobes and front lobe) ----- and work on larger petals, and get the shape better (instead of all flat) hahaha. The effects of lock-down hahaha.

I meant ----- first spotted catts that we (or most of us) ever saw was aclandiae. The patterns and colours of today's hybrid spotted cats are amazing.

I don't know for sure, but this might be rbarata's kool noid. I think I remember his posting about this one noid he has that has pink spots that expand as the flower ages and eventually color the flower entirely pink.
