Mine do quite decently outside. (So they are pretty cold-tolerant) Typical bloom time is summer at my house. I have found that they do much better in baskets (large bark) than in pots, and even better after they climb out of the basket and have some roots in open air. Then, it is pretty hard to overwater them. (In short, no need to decrease the water if the air is increased enough)

One of my favorite too! I had a mature plant in a large basket, that bloomed each year with multiple blossoms. Sadly it vanished in a hurricane, despite my securing it in the bushes. My replacement has a way to go.

ugh, i hate this story!!!

i have built a pretty simple rack in my garage that allows me to have about 40' of linear hanging space with floor to ceiling clearance. I can move all my hanging orchids in in about 4 hours and then i move the potted ones just anywhere inside that they can fit....i hate doing it but i hate your story even more
