This is the latest wonderful orchid I purchased - C. Mini Purple 'Tracy' - which arrived a couple of days ago via mail.
The previous owner is a great person - wise, humble, knowledgable - and fantastic orchid grower. The photo of the flowers was taken by him, and I'll take more photos at the next flowering to share.
It was originally growing in a bark/perlite mix. But, as with all my catt-type orchids that come through the email, I repot right away in scoria, and I also spray Mancozeb on the entire plant (roots, leaves, stem and all) prior to the repot. I once mentioned that nobody recommended this pre-treatment. I just do that. The second photo shows the dried up remnants of Mancozeb from the spray on the leaves - with the plant now potted in quincan gravel.
I will soon have an incoming C. Mini Purple 'Tamami' too - which also has very beautiful flowers.
