Just be aware that dowiana (and hybrids with heavy dowiana influence) do not tolerate cool temps in winter.

With thermostat set at 55F (12.8C), we have had problems growing these. We had to move them into a Phalaenopsis greenhouse, where thermostat setting is higher (at least 60F = 15.6C).

Thanks a lot for your advice. My mini greenhouse has 55F (+13C) at 3ft (90cm) above floor. This is the level of pleurotallid orchids. Dowiana is at 6.5ft (2m) above floor. As soon as the temperature at 3ft (90cm) drops to 55F (+13C), the heater immediately turns on and heats the greenhouse till 59F (+15C). I think that at 6.5ft (2m) the temperature never goes below 59F (+15C).
