Definitely fascinating about the colour variations out there! Also very interesting in that aclandiae can have various levels/concentrations of the spots and brown colour intensities in the petals and sepals. Wonderful species!
I grow a couple of juvenile aclandiae ..... with a 4N label on both. Really looking forward to see what their flowers will be like in the future! The aclandiae and Orchis simia were two orchids that got my attention from the very first orchid book I had (and still have) "Orchids - A Golden Guide" (hand illustrations only - water colour illustrations, this book is relatively ancient now, but still great). I learned that acquiring Orchis simia will be out of the question ....... but at least acquiring aclandiae fulfilled half of things!!! I didn't even expect that aclandiae would make it out to Australia. Thank goodness it did make it!
