Gongora cassidea
Here are pictures of my Gongora cassidea, when it flowered for me for the first time. I received a division as unidentified species from Costa Rica, that was grown in a friend's greenhouse.
Flowers are about 20 percent larger than those of galeata and amparoana, the closely related species in section Acropera.

Very interesting! The colors are just delicious....the form is out of this world....and I was surprised by the dissection of the bloom to let us see the parts of the flower.

First time seeing this orchid, the color is so weird - awesome, like mixture of the sun during the sunset:-)
