Awesome blooms, Steve. Does this one have a nice smell? When Hoosier Orchid was still around they had a large gongora (can't remember the species name) that had flowers which were highly scented of (to my nose) pina colada. The flowers on that particular plant looked a lot like those on your plant.

That is so cool, Steve. I had my first Gongora blooms this spring and I'm totally hooked. I love the white accent on this one.

Thanks everyone! This is one of my favorite plants in my collection. They grow like weeds too! This one will probably outgrow its 12" in the next season or two. I got 3 years ago from TOF in a 3" pot!

The smell from this one is very pleasant, but not overpowering. My favorite Gongora scent is from my escobariana though. I smell that one long before I see it!

Thanks! The spikes look very different from a new growth and have a caterpillar appearance with a pointy head. It will quickly arch and grow downwards too. Don't worry, yours will get big soon enough!

So Nice! Just love the shape. I'm pretty sure now that yours is blossoming, I won't get flowers on my Gongora tricolor. It's growing nicely tho so guess I'll take that and be pleased. :')
