Default Catasetum orchids with new growth and potting question

So I'm new to catasetum orchids and I bought 4 at an orchid festival that were still in dormancy. Well, now they are coming out of dormancy and showing new roots and growth, but the sphagnum moss in the plastic pot is hard. Should I remove the moss? I'm concerned that the roots won't be able to penetrate the moss. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Please advise.

How big is the pot? Maybe you could take a phone-pic, and upload the image. Maybe you can even just let the roots do their own thing for the moment. Even if the roots can't penetrate the hard media, they will still keep growing and getting longer.

Southpark, for some reason I can't upload photos. They are 2' pots and have 2 bulbs on them. I think you are right and just let them do their own thing.

The roots can definitely penetrate the media. However, now is the perfect time to repot if you wish to do so.

I wish I saw this earlier. Like Steve said, the roots will definitely get down into the media if they want to. Here are two pics taken a week apart. The moss is rock solid and I just left this guy in there to see what the roots would do.
