Catasetum leaf curl
Default Catasetum leaf curl

Hey all- brought in some svo seedlings for the winter under lights. This one seems not to like it. Leaf curling and significant edema almost over night. Sign of a change of environment or maybe too cool outside before the move in? Thoughts?

What catasetum is it? For example I've noticed my pileatum and my Jose Abalo's leaves tend to do something similar but other hybrids don't.

I don't have this specific hybrid but do have a mormodia hybrid - svo 5336 - and it's leaves are not flat. I wouldn't be concerned with yours especially when all the others are fine.

That looks bizarre. I see that in some of my newly emerging growths in the spring that are still not receiving water, but not on larger growths. I bet the leaves will unfurl with increased water.

What is it potted in?

Yeah it’s strange. It was fine and growing outside. As soon as I put it inside under lights- curl. It’s still growing it seems, just very rolled leaves (with significant edema now too)

Got these off the summer svo list. Still potted in spagnum. Roots are healthy and damp.

Consider sending Fred Clarke an email and asking what might be going on here. He is typically very responsive. The rest of us would just be guessing, he has the direct knowledge.
