I have a doubt about Stanhopea growing pattern.
The new growths always grow from the base of the newest pbulb or they can grow from any other? Or multiple grwths from different pbulbs?
Each pb has several meristemes (eyes) capable of producing a new pb or a spike. The meristemes remain alive for more than one season, so an old pb can grow a new one. They can have more than one new growth/pb, although that seems rare. If the plant is big enough, it'll have more than one growth. Mine has htree right now, in late stages of ripening, from the newest and two older pbulbs.
Thanks for the reply, Jakob.
Mine is still young (sort of), although I'm giving it all the right conditions, I'm not sure if it will bloom this spring for the first time.

I think yours is probably a few years from blooming!
