Fdk. After Dark grown in S/H
This plant had been in S/H for the first year of its potted life, so I left it that way when I acquired it. You can see that the recent bulbs are fat and tall. There are 8 visible bulbs, and it has never been divided. The pot is a storage container I got at the dollar store and drilled with holes almost 2 inches from the bottom.
The spike is 20 inches long with 12 blossoms; 4 blossoms blasted for some reason. The top of the plant is roughly the same height as the spike.

Its a happy healthy plant! So, you never gave it any rest period at all?

Yes, after it drops its leaves I will let it dry out and just not water it until it sprouts a new growth. If I get nervous, I can dribble a little water in and leave it, or flush it and pour the reservoir out. I've tried both in the past, but now the bulbs are so big, they don't seem to shrivel at all.

Very nice - those old bulbs look so fat - ripe for division!

Yes, the blooms will be around for a while. Much nicer than some of the other ctsms. that vanish more quickly.
As it is in S/H, it does not need repotting every year, but I will do it this year to re-orient it in the pot, and I may divide it then. It's getting pretty heavy!

I have this plant on one large Phal. in S/H. At one point there were others, but either I repotted them if they weren't thriving or they went to orchid heaven. These two have done well for several years, so I'm not inclined to change them out.

Semi Hydroponic. Wet, but not drowning.
Catasetums seem to quite like it if their pot sits
in a couple of centimeters of water/fertiliser solution.
