It may not lose them at all, or still might in the coming months. (it has only been dry for about 2 months so far, that's nothing...) With leaves or without, that's last year's growth. In due course you'll see the new growth, and then you'll need to wait some more before watering, until the new roots are 3-4 inches long (or if they are down in the medium where you can't see how big they are, wait until the second flush of roots appears and they're a couple of inches) By that time the new growth will have opened out. Only then should you resume watering. I think you have another two months at least before it is ready for watering. The plant will tell you... in the meantime, patience...
