Catasetum Black Knight (tenebrosum x expansum)
I got this from a friend in Houston while at the September AOS judging center monthly meeting and can't take credit for the blooms. I absolutely love this!!
FYI- This is originally from Stephen Moffitt's (Rare Earth Orchids) collection

Magnificent flowers....it looks satin black but there is a maroon transparency on backlight.

So pretty! I have tenebrosum but I've never seen any hybrids. I'll keep my eyes open.

I like that high contrast B/W rather than the all-black ones.

Yep, the "black" Catasetums are actually just very dark maroon. This one is no exception.
