Default Mormodes paraensis

Recently described (1993), Mormodes paraensis comes in a variety of colours. This is the flava form. A first-bloom seedling imported from Brazil, the flowers are about 3 cm on an 8cm p-bulb. I suspect it would normally bloom in my Winter.

Beautiful! Now to get it on a Northern Hemisphere schedule... I'm dealing with the same right now. It's strange to have dormant plants in the heat of summer. I thought for sure they'd be triggered into growth by now.

Most of my imports have already started into growth after only 2 weeks. The few straglers may become problematic. I keep misting them and hope for a growth bud to trigger. We are currently very warm and humid, which has helped the others.

Looks great! Which vendor did you get it from?

Hey, Steve,
it came from Buena Vista. They have lots of interesting species and hybrids, all from seed. Quality has been excellent, as well. here is a shot of my last import right out of the box.
