Root!!
I just wanted to share a picture of this beautiful fat root my little Catasetum is growing for me with people who understand I am not totally nuts! This is a Cl. Rebecca Northen 'Grapefruit Pink' x Ctsm. spitzii 'SVO Gold' FCC/AOS I got for my birthday last year.
Edit: sorry for the sideways picture!

Nice root! and last year's bulb looks like it was plenty fat and healthy too. Lots to look forward to.

It is a nice round pbulb. I really like the shape of the bulbs on this one, they are shorter and very round. I can't wait to see what the flowers look like. I know the picture Fred Clarke showed of this cross was a lovely buttery yellow color.

Nice, root growth always seems to be a good indicator of health in my experience. I rescued a big Catasetum from a fallen tree a couple months ago with a pbulb the size of a big banana and it's shooting out a ton of new roots at the moment. Looking forward to seeing what kind it is.

It most likely will be a C. maculatum. I found dozens of them in the area. Though you never know till it blooms.

I agree, a thread with repeated updates on your plant would be wonderful!
