Fdk Black pearl questions. Im new.

Hello everyone. Im new to orchids in general, but i just own 1 catasetum hybrid and thats the fdk black pearl. I'm trying to attach pics, but it gets post denied.

I have 3 questions

1) Do leafless bulbs keep growing? Mine have 2 little bulbs. Should I discard them?

2) Leafless bulbs grow new roots? Only the new growth seems to be developing roots and then old bulbs are a little wrinkeled.

3) In pic 2 what is that growing along side the roots?
