Depends on the species. And the time of year it was sown. If sown in the spring, it is around 6 months (or as early as 5 months) from pollination to harvest (split pod). If sown in the fall it can take up to a year. What is the cross?
I'm using After Dark as pod parent. Its at 6 weeks and still growing - yet comparatively much smaller than other orchids I have propagated ( phals, catts, zygo's, paph ) at that age. Hence me thinking that there is a long way to go.
Its only about an inch long.
I started watering - about 1/4 cupful - 1x per week. Pod seems to have plumped up a bit, but more interestingly 3 nubbins popped up out of the pseudobulb.
Photo of the 2 - other one is on the other side. This has never happened before to this plant and in fact its twin is still fully dormant ( and unwatered ). It had 2 spikes in Fall. I wonder what these are going to be ?
