Default Another FDK After Dark Black Pearl, another question...

This time it's my friend's plant, she's bought it with a nicely developed new growth some time around April. A couple of months later it threw out another new growth. The plant now looks like this:

Add you can see, the mature growth is starting to yellow, and will be dropping it's leaves quite soon. The other growth is still not mature, though.
Question is : what should she do about watering? Should she reduce watering and fertilising based on the mature pb, or should she keep watering and fertilising until the 2nd pb matures and its leaves start to drop? I would hazard a guess that the mature pb should take precedence if she wants to see flowers and not rot the plant, is that right?

I would keep watering and fertilizing until the new growth is mature.
