Default stake catasetum spikes??

Should catasetum spikes be staked upright or let to drape? Mine are blooming and I let them drape but am now trying to stake as the flowers really aren't visible when they drape. Thoughts?

Catasetum flowers are usually not staked.

However, they're your plants and if you can't enjoy them without staking them, start propping up those spikes!!

Agreed. Most people like the pendant look for their catasetinae but it's all in your preference. I usually hang mine or set them on the mantle for display.

Regardless of the orchid I manipulate developing spikes to suit myself. The plants don't seem to mind, as long as it is done in a timely manner. I do love a cascading display, but, this is not always appropriate.
