Default Cycnoches chlorochilon or Mass Confusion?

Although the plant is ending its flowering cycle, I wanted to upload a picture of one of the blooms and request some help in correctly identifying it.

I bought this last spring as a seedling, and it was ID'd as Cycnoches Mass Confusion (primary hybrid of warscewcizii and chlorochilon). When it flowered, however, I got my hopes up that it might actually be the true chlorochilon (which has been impossible for me to find) instead of the hybrid.

Does anyone who grows Mass Confusions and/or chlorochilon know what this is? I have several plants of warscewiczii, so I am familiar with its flower shape. This, however, doesn't look anything like the flower pictures I've found online of Mass Confusion. If anyone wants to provide an opinion, I will appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Steve

This is my chlorochilon: it seems to have more green in the center than yours, but the shape is pretty similar to my eye (not expert, though!)

Thank you for your reply. The shape of both flowers (to me) looks very close. The color difference may be because I picked the flower after having accidentally knocked off the pollen cap and pollinia. I'll take another picture of an intact bloom once the flowers open on the second spike that is starting to form. Thanks again for your help.

Looks like pure chlorochilon to me. This species has a pretty distinct shape.

Thank you, Steve. Maybe I did get lucky by receiving a mislabeled plant.

I'm no expert on either species, but if it was sold as Mass Confusion why question it? There are plenty of hybrids that bloom out looking more like one parent than the other. If it was from a reputable vendor... Maybe ask the vendor what they think? They could compare it to siblings that have bloomed out. They'd have a wider base of comparison.

That said, I agree that it looks very chlorochilon. But I think the name of the hybrid says it all. Aptly named

Good points regarding why question the label that was in the pot. The only reasons are that A) the vendor (although very friendly, accommodating and easy to deal with) has supplied plants before that were completely mislabeled [e.g. sending a rather expensive (and relatively rare) Stanhopea martiana only to discover that it was, upon blooming, a standard (and not so rare) Stanhopea tigrina]; and B) the flower looks nothing like any other Mass Confusion that I've so far been able to locate on the Internet.

That being said, I agree with your idea that it's probably a good idea to ask the venfor what he thinks. Thank you for the feedback.

That would be a fantastic name for a next generation hybrid using this one as a parent. :-)
