I recently posted about my new black magic and after dark.
My black magic is blooming now and I noticed a small growth between the current spiking bulb and the older one.
It doesn't feel as if it's connected thou. I moved it a bit away from the tightly packed moss.
What do I do now? Remove it? Leave it ? If they can't have water then won't it rot? It looks like a small bulb with a brown dot on it.
Too small to know for sure whether it's a growth or spike. Either way, continue to water as normal. Even if it's a new growth, your goal is to mature the larger growth to ensure it's healthy enough to produce future growths next season.
FWIW- I'm leaning toward that being another spike but it is too soon to know for sure. I'm better at differentiating in person but, even then, these green nubs have fooled me more than once.

Spike tips are usually very round while new growth is very pointed. Tough to tell at this point though.
Time will tell....
I looked back in my own records. I purchased a 2 bulb Millennium Magic plant in Sept 2013. Today I have 14 bulbs in 3 pots. Point is that these can grow like a weed in the right conditions.
My vote for yours is a bulb😀
A photo of my one pot with 6 bulbs - 3 growths this season, including 1 in front that was so tiny when I began watering that I thought wouldn't make it.
