Stanhopea wardii - yellowing pbulb

Update on this one... and a question.
When should I repot it? Spring?
I'm asking this for two reasons: it's in a pot and not in a basket. This plant is too young to bloom but I'll have to basket it anyway.
Second, and more urgent...the roots of the fern growing in the pot soon start to take over all space and nutrients.

I would wait a few years to repot. Its too young to repot several times in a row.

You can pull the fern out before it gets really embedded in the pot. I've had those as full sized adults growing through Stan media with no ill effect.

I thought it would be adviseable to do it in a few months. What's the "criteria" to know when the time comes?

Probably when it outgrows the pot!! A few years maybe.

Yes, the new groth will be much bigger.
I tried to pull the fern but it's stuck. If I pull it the pbulbs will come along with it. If not, root damage is a certainty.

I had a feeling that would happen. The fern doesn't hurt the plant and you can pull it out when you repot.

Update on this one (as you've noticed already for sure, I'm the update guy of this forum )

Nothing really new...huge root growth under the surface and the new leaf is getting bigger.
One thing I'm not sure if it's a good sign, it it's normal or not. There's a noticeable difference in color between the two leaves. Does the newest gets darker with age or it's due to a difference in light (the older grown in summer while the lighter it's growing now).

Yep, newer leaves are lighter green.

Plants that wilt easily when dry are great to have as accessories in pots. They tell you when you need to water. When we fertilize we provide a huge excess of nutrients. Other plants in the pot are not a problem unless they become so big they shade the main plant or make repotting difficult.
